Pioneer Association Golf Classic 2015

Mr. Eamon Keatings Team

The annual Pioneer Golf Classic fundraiser took place in Clontarf Golf Club on Friday 3rd July 2015. The weather played its part as it was a gloriously bright and sunny day, ideal conditions for a perfect round of golf!

Six teams participated on the day playing the Stableford system and as it turned out the competition was quite intense for the first prize. There was no difference in points between first and second place and the winning team on 87 points was decided, as is customary, on the back nine holes.

Congratulations to the 2015 winning Team captained by Mr. Eamon Keating who won the Powakaddy Golf Bags and a set of Golf Balls. Second prize was won by Fr. Liam McClarey’s team who have the opportunity of playing the course again as they won a round of Golf/evening meal in Clontarf Golf Club. Third prize was won by Mr. David Keating’s team, younger brother of Eamon, who amassed 82 points and won FootJoy Polo shirts as well as a set of Golf balls.

The longest drive competition was won by Mr. Gary Ramsey while the nearest to the pin competition was won by Mr. Gerry Barry. They each collected for their prize a golf umbrella and a set of golf balls.

I would like to thank all those teams who participated and supported our fundraising efforts. I hope to see you all again next year! I also wish to extend our gratitude to our sponsors who helped to make the event a successful one!
